At Codename, I made Three Editor Tools for :
1. SAMRPG :
The level editor for this game allowed the designer to create hex maps, load and save maps and assign special tiles and props on tiles.
It would then export it out to xml and be read by the engine to create a map similar to the one seen in the picture above.
It was created in Flash/Flex - AS3.
Attached below is the installer for the tool. It is an Adobe Air installer - MapEditor.air
2. BOOM! :
The level editor for this game allowed the designer to create complex paths/ai behaviors for the enemy ships that approached your base. It let you define the type of enemy AI, turret AI and ranges, damage values etc. for all playable assets in the game. It also had a save/load functionality and could verify maps for inconsistencies.
It would export all this data into xml and that would be read by the engine to create a map similar to the one seen in the picture above.
It was created in Unity - C#. Attached below is a zip file containing the tool - BoomLevelEditor.zip.
3. Particle Editor Tool.
This particle editor allowed artists to input a sprite, set an emitter and parameters to visualize what a particle effect would look like in another engine.
It was created in Flash/Flex - AS3.
Attached below is the swf of the tool - ParticleEditor.swf.
